I had planned to go with my family to Taipei for spending one week there. The airline tickets were ready, the hotel reservation at Ximen also. Unfortunately, plans changed suddenly: my other in law got ill and my older son had an accident playing rugby and had an urgent surgery, the week before the departure. Deadline for cancellation at Hotel Ximen was over, but I wrote them, through Booking, and they understood the situation, I was authorized to cancel without any charge. As soon as my family situation will be OK for traveling, we will plan again to go to Taiwan. With no doubt, we will reserve at Hotel Ximen.

Receptionist is not friendly, his attitude made us feel unwelcome here. The room is old and has a very unpleasant smell. Price paid for the room was quite high but experience was extremely bad. The only plus point is nice location, close to the Taipei main station and ximen night market.

Room smells like used already and room is old , and i got bothered when I noticed they accept hourly bookings for the room and most of the clients are couples for short time stay . Smell of the room is really off ,i don’t recommend this hotel is dirty.

It’s located inside a residential building, the location is quite convenient, lots of local restaurants downstairs. However the room had some sort of urine smell and it’s quite worn out. I couldn’t sleep well for the two nights I stayed there because of the smell...

This place was great! Nice, comfortable, decently priced, English speaking staff. Central to all the Ximen craziness, but still quiet. Huge bed, great water pressure. The kind of place that when you leave your air con on when you go out, it’s still on when you come back (Which in summer, is a blessing!)! Close to Ximen MRT. One thing that was tough was the 3pm check in. It’s tough getting into town and having to wait when all you want to do is chill for a bit.
